• Managed and coordinated the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) related Information Request (IR) responses for proposed gold mine sites in Nova Scotia.

• Ambient Air Monitoring Programs (2021-2022). Senior project manager - Managed the annual ambient air monitoring program for metals and particulates in support of a mining client's Industrial Approval. 

Atlantic Canada - Wind Energy Sector

• Managed the development and submission of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and related stakeholder management and consultation for a proposed 99 MW wind farm in Atlantic Canada.

Atlantic Canada - Utility Sector

• Managed the evaluation and multi-year assessment of a watershed for use as a public drinking water supply - Directed and coordinated the ecological, analytical, and hydrological components in support of the surface water withdrawal application.

Husky Energy - White Rose

• Technical Advisor to Baker Hughes, primarily supporting Husky Energy offshore chemical applications and production enhancement.

• Project manager for Produced Water Reinjection Feasibility Study - Technical project management of the Baker Hughes components of a multi-stage Produced Water Reinjection Study for Husky Energy.

• Project manager and principal lead scientist for SeaRose FPSO Mooring chain MIC Study - Developed and implemented a risk based microbial induced corrosion (MIC) field study of the SeaRose FPSO mooring chain systems. Acted as project lead overseeing the field program and directing assets including surface vessel (OSV Skandi Vinland) and the deepwater ROVs.

Guyana - SBM/ExxonMobil

• Conducted comprehensive on-the-ground investigations in Guyana to assess local logistics, vendors, transportation, and supply chain capacity. This included analyzing supply chain processes to identify bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for optimization. 

• Evaluated the accessibility and suitability of transportation networks for goods movement. Engaged in on-site visits and meetings with local vendors, transporters, and logistics providers to gain firsthand insights into their operations. 

• Assessed the regulatory environment and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to local laws and regulations.

Deep Panuke, SBM/Encana

• Field Manager - Account management of Baker Hughes services and personnel at Deep Panuke and the main point of contact for SBM supporting operations within the fields of production chemistry, integrity management, and flow assurance. Based in house as the Baker Hughes focal point for the Deep Panuke Field.

• Offshore Process Chemist - Provided offshore chemical and analytical support for the Terra Nova FPSO. Responsible for the application and performance management of a full range of production chemical treatments including corrosion inhibition, scale inhibition (topsides and downhole), water clarification and demulsification.

Sable Offshore Energy

• Seatech offshore laboratory technician and later as Baker Hughes Account Manager.

ExxonMobil/Suncor/Sonangol P&P/Encana

• Offshore Laboratory Management - Comprehensive laboratory management experience including for compliance related analysis of marine discharges, auditable by regulatory authorities.

Regulatory and Constraints Assessments

• First Nation Solar Project (Skookumchuck, British Columbia) - responsible for authoring the Investigative Use Licence, Permitting Plan, and Preliminary Constraints Assessment.

• First Nation Solar Project (Osoyoos, British Columbia) - responsible for authoring the Constraints Report, Permitting Plan, and Environmental Mitigation Plan

• Managed the post-EA permitting and approvals process for Pieridae Energy's Goldboro LNG project in Nova Scotia, Canada.

• Manifa/Safaniyah Plant Expansions - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Supported the Environmental Assessment process for the expansion of two large oilfields with onshore and offshore infrastructure in the KSA and Persian Gulf. 

• Seismic and exploratory drilling activities on the Scotian Shelf (Marauder (EL2415), Marconi (EL2416) & Mariner (EL2409) Blocks) - Project coordinator and author.

• HDD natural gas pipeline crossing of Halifax Harbour - Project manager and lead author.

• Department of National Defense LFA Sonar Study, Due-Diligence Environmental Assessment - Project manager and author.

Environmental Effects Monitoring Studies

• Project lead for a large Marine Ecological Survey of the Idd El Shargi North Dome (ISND) and Idd El Shargi South Dome (ISSD) production fields, Persian Gulf offshore Qatar. Conducted the comprehensive environmental survey in the Persian Gulf conducting ocean sediment sampling for benthic and physicochemical analysis, water quality hydrographic profiling, and assessment of underwater benthic habitats from video and drop camera footage. Project manager and lead author of the resulting Environmental Survey Report.

• Project manager for the Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) Program for Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) within Halifax Harbour. Conducted the water quality sampling and hydrographic profiling at 30+ multi-depth stations covering the entire expanse of Halifax Harbour. Responsible for oceanographic equipment maintenance and calibration, field team scheduling and coordination, sample submission and coordination of multiple analytical laboratories, report data collection/collation, and Project meetings with the lead scientists and client.

• Biologist, field team lead, scientific diver, and report author for the semi-annual Environmental Effects Studies within Placentia Bay, NL. Field work included sediment samples (grabs and diver cores), water sampling and hydrographic profiling, and organic (mussel tissue) sampling at several stations within the Bay.

Habitat Assessment and Environmental Surveys

• Lead scientific diver for Seatech Ltd conducting marine habitat assessments in the near wharf area of the gypsum loading facility within Wrights Cove in Halifax Harbour.

• Project Scientist for several ecological fish and fish habitat assessments conducted within Nova Scotia. Lead scientist and report author.

• Project manager for a Halifax Port Authority Compensation Study to fulfill Environmental Assessment Approval Conditions. Project manager and lead author.

• Project manager for a marine benthic study within Tufts Cove in Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia. Responsible for the scheduling, budgets, small craft coordination, and the organization of the field and dive teams.

• Project manager and field team lead for the chemical characterization and hydrographic profiling of flooded wastewater pits at a former tin mine facility.

• Lead scientific diver for Seatech Ltd conducting marine habitat assessments of the near wharf area of the gypsum loading facility within the Strait of Canso.

• Team scientific diver involved with the initial benthic sample collection and habitat mapping after the sinking of HMCS Saguenay as a dive park in Lunenburg Harbour.

• Field biologist conducting aquatic and sediment surveys to delineate original shoreline contours within the receiving region of the Boat Harbour treatment lagoon as part of the Shoreline Remediation project.

• Project manager for two semi-annual comprehensive lake monitoring programs consisting of over 63 lakes within Halifax Regional Municipality to characterize limnology and water quality. Lead scientist, field team lead, and report author.

• Biologist and scientific diver involved with the benthic and algal surveys conducted at the pipeline easement in Goldboro, Nova Scotia, as part of a near shore environmental impact program for the Sable Offshore Energy Project.

• Project manager responsible for the implementation of a flare emissions monitoring program for Atlantic Canada's Offshore Industry, with field stations on Sable Island and Halifax.

Ocean Disposal Permit Applications

• Managed Ocean Disposal Permit Applications for harbour dredging projects in Atlantic Canada. Managed and conducted the field operations, small craft operation, field sampling (water and sediments), data collection/processing, and reporting.

Offshore Chemicals Usage and Discharge Screening

• Developed and managed Offshore Chemical Management databases of approved production chemicals and the screening of products (including for discharge) as per the regulatory guidelines.

Microbiological Contamination (MBC) in Distillate Fuels

• Principal biologist and project manager for the comprehensive monitoring program for microbiological contamination in marine distillate fuels (MBC) of the Canadian Coast Guard's Eastern Fleet, Marine Atlantic's Eastern Fleet, and the Sable Offshore Energy Project.

Training and Development

• Development of a comprehensive training and certification program for offshore operators, deck crew, and crane operators to identify and understand the processes involved, associated problems, and mitigating control procedures for the uncontrolled growth of common fuel microbes in distillate fuels.
